It always quite amazed me when a young, pretty actress played a role in the Game of Thrones series and was described in the press as “Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter”. And, sure enough, this twenty-something lady was a granddaughter, not a great- or great-great-granddaughter of Chaplin because he had many children very late in life and so did several of his sons.
Charlie Chaplin’s youngest son was born in Switserland on July 8, 1962. Which makes him far from the oldest celebrity offspring. But Christopher Chaplin is the only currently living Hollywood descendant who can say that his father was born in 1889 and would have been 136 had he still been alive today.
Doing the math quickly tells us that Chaplin had the youngest of his eleven known children when he, himself, was 73 years of age. In this, Chaplin isn’t the record holder — Anthony Quinn had his youngest child at the age of 81 and Al Pacino currently holds the record for oldest Hollywood parent, having fathered his latest son at the age of 83.
